Spilsby Town Council is looking to engage with local residents and businesses about plans for an initial 450 houses to be built in the town.
The plans, which are expected to be submitted to planning authorities sometime in October, are for an initial 450 houses on land to the east of Spilsby between Ashby Road and Halton Road, and a new doctors’ surgery. If planning permission is granted work is expected to begin in Spring 2021, with the building work likely to take place in stages.
This will be one of the biggest single developments that ELDC has been involved with and Spilsby Town Council made it abundantly clear how important it will be to engage with the people of Spilsby before and during the planning process.

A previous consultation was held on plans for up to 600 houses in the same area in 2015.
Planning officers from East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) are assisting developers with a comprehensive planning application, prior to being submitted for approval.
The Town Council will be assisting ELDC to engage with the public and invite residents, community groups, businesses and larger industrial companies to make their representations.

“Spilsby Town Council will be using the ‘Have Your Say’ survey and will invite residents, community groups, businesses, and larger industrial companies to make their representations to ensure the proposed development is able to enhance the vibrancy of the town.”

Launching its’ new “Have Your Say” campaign leaflets will be delivered to each household and business in Spilsby over the next few weeks which will include details on the Council’s Neighbourhood Development Pla
Spilsby Town Council is also launching their “Have Your Say” campaign, consulting with the public on their Neighbourhood Development Plan – seeking to influence future housing development, transportation and infrastructure, employment, landscape, and green spaces in the town.
The Council is also hosting a stand to promote their “Have Your Say” campaign in the marketplace on Monday 13 July.
The survey will run from 13 July to midnight on 10 August.

There is no infrasructure for that many houses / cars / people ie doctors, dentist, shops, roads, most important of all jobs people out of work will increase crime
When did 450 become 600!? It will no doubt be a case of ask for more and get permission for what you really want! Madness.
There seem to be no change proposals related to gaining access to this proposed new development without impacting traffic through the town centre. For new residents wishing to travel south or west it appears that all of their traffic would route through the town centre converging at the staggered cross road by the church. Current roadside parking permissions already creates a traffic restriction where the road narrows by “All Wrapped Up”. The cross roads is an inherent hazard. The outlet to the A16 opposite Hundleby is a Hazard already with little enforcement to reduce speeds on the A16 which leads to long queues leaving the town centre.
The developers are not responsible for any of these knock on issues.
